Cascara Sagrada (aka rhamnus purshiana) is pretty much a natural laxative.    Avoid if you are pregnant, nursing, or suffering from diarrhea (or any other intestinal disease other then constipation).  As with laxatives continued use can lead to dependence.  Cascara Sagrada can lead to potassium loss.
