One can try soaking their legumes (or any other food that cause flatulence) in water prior to cooking.  Dispense the water and cook your legumes like you normally would.  The cause of flatulence is caused by a chemical located on the outside of the legume which is why this would work.  Another trick is to soak the beans in apple cider vinegar. some say before cooking and some say just prior to removing from heat.

Consuming a small portion of apple cider vinegar before meals should help as well.

For the best results one should really buy bean-zyme which is a cheaper all-vegetarian alternative to beano.

Lactose intolerance (even the mild variant) can cause flatulence as well.  As a cure you can take lactase enzymes with your meal like lactaid.

Activated charcoal can help as well (like charcocaps, charcoal plus, and flatulex).  Careful with charcoal and it can deplete important nutrients.

There are actually seat cushions called 'flatulence filter' which can help as well.

Other tricks include mylanta gas, pepto-bismol, fennel, flaxseed, peppermint, and ginger.
